Anastazija E. 'Anna' Cassano

Anastazija " Anna" E. Cassano, age 98 of Hammonton, NJ died Sun. Feb. 13, 2011 at her residence. Born in Lithuania in 1912, she immigrated to the United States in 1928 with her sister Rachel. Anna moved to Hammonton in 1937 from Philadelphia and resided here for the remainder of her life. She was employed as a hand seamstress for several local clothing factories including Modern Clothing and Aggressive and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Worker's Union, the Hammonton Senior Citizens and St. Martin de Porres Parish. She enjoyed gardening and was a superb cook. Anna is predeceased by her husband Anthony M. Cassano,Sr. and daughter in law Antoinette ( Ricco )Cassano. Surviving are her son Anthony M. Cassano, Jr. of Hammonton, NJ.She was the loving grandmother of Anita Cassano ( Roy W. Conway, Jr.), and Annette Hamm ( Glenn ) and great grandmother of David and Diana Hamm. She is survived by her caregiver Deborah Still. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sat. 9:00am - 10:30am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ.
