Albert J. Halacki

Halacki, Albert 85 - of Hammonton, passed away April 29, 2009 at his residence. Born in Newark, NJ, he coresided in Winslow and Long Beach Island until he moved to Hammonton in 1984. He served his country in the US Navy beginning at the age of 17, during WWII and was discharged a decorated Veteran, surviving the sinking of the USS Hornet and USS Princeton. He was employed at Ancora Hospital as a Patrolman, and the Fire Chief, before his health required a shift in positions, to Chief Information Officer, retiring in 1984 after 25 years of service. Predeceased by his parents John and Anna, brothers Peter, Edward( Ann) and Gene Halacki. Surviving are his wife beloved Dorothy (nee Dixon), daughters Darlene (Mike) Messina and Shirley (Sal) Capelli all of Hammonton. Grandfather of Jonathan Baglivo of Raleigh NC, Jared (Christina) Baglivo of Mays Landing, James Baglivo fiance Susan Hurchik, Maribeth Capelli, of Hammonton and sister in law Irene Halacki. Al was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was an avid wine maker and gardener and volunteered many hours at Barn Brothers Inc.
