Anna "Annie" Pfau

September 26, 1954 — January 14, 2025

Anna "Annie" Pfau (nee Dorosz) age 70 of Blue Anchor NJ passed away at her home with her loving family by her side and was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on January 14, 2025.

Annie was born on September 26th, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA to her late parents, Ukrainian descendants, Olga and Dmytro Dorosz. Annie grew up on Blavis Street in the Nicetown section of Philadelphia and attended Frankford and Olney High Schools. After graduation, Annie married her sweetheart George and moved to New Jersey in 1976 with their first 2 children. They went on to have 3 more children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great children who are all their pride and joy. Annie and George have been married 52 years.

At a young age Annie would help at her brother's pizza shop, worked at Wanamakers as a secretary and holiday gift wrapper in Philadelphia and later worked as a secretary for the Winslow Township Board of Fire Commissioners in New Jersey. She was on the swim team with her sisters, a lifeguard and even held swimming lessons at her home. Anna was a strong woman with a lot of drive and eventually became a long-time business owner.

Annie was a giver with a huge heart and loved being with her family and friends. She sewed many of her kid's clothes and costumes, was a room mom and church counselor over the years. Annie loved supporting all the kids and wouldn't miss any of their events. She would get so excited to plan fun things for the family, and enjoyed traveling, reading, swimming, roller blading, playing cards, walking her dog and shopping as the fashion savvy woman she was. Annie had a huge love of music and played the piano. She was fond of Jerry Blavat, line dancing and dance competitions. She felt a lot of joy in spending time at her and George's "Love Nest," their beach house in Wildwood Crest. where they attended many Doo Wop concerts. Some of her husband's fondest memories together were driving in their convertible cars listening to music.

Annie loved our Lord Jesus Christ and would speak often about all of the churches her father would take her to as a young girl and how he taught her different ways to worship the Lord. Annie also enjoyed Billy Graham who was a big influence on her family. Annie would pray for a hedge of protection over her children and grandchildren every day.

"The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust." Psalm 18:2

Annie is survived by her loving husband George E. Pfau Jr., her son George "Rocky" Pfau, her daughters Jennifer Pfau, Danielle Weissman (Chris), Rachel Cooey (Harvey) and Gina (Georganne) Pfau, her brother Paul Dorosz (Nadia), sister Victoria Baker and many sister and brother in laws, nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Jenelle (Jared), Raelynn Mento (Dylan), Lacey (Jason) Christian, Sophia, Brock, Frankie, Sianni, George "Dmytro", great grandchildren Santino and Kash who each had a special bond with their "Sissy."
