Anne D. Vaccarella

Anne Dolores (LaVacchia) Vaccarella, 83, of Hammonton passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2014 surrounded by her family. Anne was born and raised in Cedar Brook New Jersey, attended Lower Regional High School graduating in 1948. She married John "Cookie" Vaccarella in 1951, and then moved to Hammonton where she was a lifelong resident. In her youth, Anne was a stay-at-home mom working part-time as a school crossing guard at Central & Vine Streets until 1965 when she began working at Whitehall Laboratories until her retirement in 1995. Anne's family was the center of her life and she was always at her happiest being a Brownie and Cub Scout leader, participating in family events and attending all her grandchildren's activities. But most of all, Anne loved cooking and caring for her beloved husband, John and traveling on far away vacations with him. Predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Mary LaVacchia; sisters, Marie Pagano and Florence LaVacchia. She is survived by her husband, John "Cookie"; children, Debra Woodruff (Tom), John Vaccarella, Jr. (Louann) and Gayle Edwards (Gerald "Spike"); grandchildren, Kelly DeFelice (Sam), Alyson Pandolfini (Darren), Coralee Dixon (Brian Williams), Carrie and Tommy Woodruff; great-grandchildren, Mia and Lorenzo Pandolfini and Daisy Williams. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sunday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, April 14, 9:30am - 10:30 Home at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 North Third Street, Hammonton, New Jersey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942 or Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ, 40 Brace Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034, Attention: Donna Evans.
