Anthony Monica age 84 of Hammonton, NJ passed away Thursday May 3, 2012 at AtlantiCare Regional Hospital in Galloway. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was a graduate of Southern High School in Phila. Pa. Anthony worked at Spencer Gifts in Hammonton and Egg Harbor Twp. Retiring in 1992 after 19 years of service. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #196 and the Moose Lodge of Hammonton and Berlin. Anthony holds the World Record for the Tautog (black fish) 25 lbs. in 1998. Anthony is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Virginia Monica. Surviving are his wife Josephine (nee DeSiderio), his sons Joseph (Maria) of Broomall, Pa. and Anthony (Kathleen) of Hammonton. Sister Ginger (Tom) Peterson and sister in law Esther DeSiderio. Loving grandfather of 5. Great-grandfather of 2. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday 10:00-11:30 am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 12:00pm at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish St. Joseph Church Third & French Sts. Hammonton. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. Donations may be made to American Heart Association 1 Union Street, #301 Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183 or the charity of one's choice.
