Anthony M. “Mark” Rodio, age 84, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Mark was a lifelong resident of Hammonton, graduating from Hammonton High School in 1959. He founded MAR Contractors in 1975, continuing his work there until the present. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony “Chiefie” and Angelina Rodio, his brother Carmine “Butch” Rodio, and his sister Jacqueline Rodio.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Rose Marie Rodio (nee Pitale); his son, Kevin Rodio and his wife Stacey; his daughter, Kimberly Calascione; and his brother, Sam Rodio and his wife CJ. He will be dearly missed by his loving grandchildren, Stephen M. Calascione (Jackie Russell), Jenna Castellini (Andy), Maximilian Rodio (fiancé Matthew Marone), Natalie, and Augustus Rodio. He will also be missed by his dear, faithful friend, Daniel Huerta.
Mark was an avid baseball fan who loved the game deeply. He spent countless hours watching and discussing baseball, collecting memorabilia, and sharing his passion with friends and family. Throughout his adult life, he excelled at baseball, playing on the minor league team, the Black Sox. He continued his passion for baseball by coaching little league teams, always doing his best to encourage his son Kevin to play. Mark also coached junior and senior recreational softball teams that his daughter Kimberly played on, fostering a love for the game in her as well.
Alongside his beloved wife, Rose Marie, Mark traveled across the country to support his grandson Augustus in his motorcycle racing endeavors. Their shared adventures and unwavering support for their children and grandchildren brought them immense joy and created cherished memories.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Kathedral Event Center, located at 499 S. Egg Harbor Rd., Hammonton, NJ.
