Charlotte L. Levitsky

Charlotte L. Levitsky (nee Oniffrey) age 89 of Margate City, NJ passed away peacefully Wednesday October 21, 2020, at her home. She was born on July 6, 1931 in the anthracite coal town of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania to John and Sophia (Okosh) Oniffrey. After graduating from Mahanoy City High School, she attended Temple University in Philadelphia earning an Associate degree in Nursing. It was at Temple where Charlotte met her future husband, Robert F. Levitsky, who ironically was originally from the neighboring town of Shenandoah, PA, attending Temple University in pursuit of a business degree. Charlotte was employed as a Registered Nurse in hospitals and physician offices in the Philadelphia area; she was especially fond of assisting in the delivery of babies in the maternity ward of Nazareth Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia.
She supported the historic mansion, Glen Foerd on the Delaware in the Torresdale section of Philadelphia as well as numerous charities dear to her heart. Charlotte enjoyed entertaining her friends and was an avid shopper of the QVC Network. She was happiest in her role as homemaker, and devoted to her children and grandchildren. Charlotte enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles and her morning routine reading both the Philadelphia Inquirer and Press of Atlantic City. She loved the New Jersey shore and was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Temple Football and Basketball.
Charlotte is predeceased by her husband Robert F. Levitsky and her daughter Lorraine Levitsky. She is survived by her son Robert J. Levitsky and his wife Donna of Douglassville, PA; her daughter Susan Chille and her husband Joseph of Folsom, NJ and her loving grandchildren, Courtney Levitsky (Brian King), Christopher and Nicholas Chille. Burial will be private to the family in Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.
