Cynthia Coleman

June 13, 1962 — February 11, 2024

Cynthia G. Coleman (nee Mayes), 61, passed away peacefully February 11, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Cynthia was a resident of Gibbstown. She graduated from Deptford High School in 1982 where she was an accomplished musician and from Glassboro State College in 1984 where she studied education. Cindy began working at Deptford Township High School in 1984 until retirement in 2018. She was deeply committed in her role as an educator and mentor in the AVID Program (Advancement Via Individual Determination).

Cindy was energetic, kind and had the most generous heart. Her smile was infectious and she laughed easily. She enjoyed many hours cooking with her family and friends, gardening and helping her husband with his business. Her happiest role was that of a wife, mother and mentor. She was a person of deep faith.

She is predeceased by her father Joel Mayes.

Surviving is her husband of 38 years Michael Coleman, daughter Stephanie Coleman, mother Doris Mayes, sisters Karen Watts (Robert), and Joelle Mayes. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
