Daniel J. Benedetto, Sr. passed away on Monday November 25, at home. Dan was born on January 15, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. A 1942 graduate of Hammonton High School, he served in the Army during World War II in Northern Africa and Europe as a Sergeant with the Military Police. In 1950, he joined the family business, The Town House Restaurant, and worked there until the business was sold in the 70's. He then went to work on the Atlantic City Expressway where he worked as a Security Guard and Toll Collector until his second retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 186, VFW and St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish. He was a former member of the Hammonton Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita (Molinari), sons, Daniel J. and his wife, Maria , of Hammonton, Richard A. and his wife , Renee, of Pittston, PA., and his three grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, and Danielle, sister Marie Musgrove of Sun City, Florida, brother Louis and his wife, Kathryn, of Cherry Hill and sister in law, Dorothy M. Cartica of Hammonton. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Fri. from 9:00am - 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Anthony of Padua Church 285 Rt. 206 Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ.
