David A. Curcio

David "Davey" Allen Curcio age 60, passed from this life due to complications from kidney failure on Monday, June 20, 2016 at his home in Triangle, VA. Born on Saturday, July 2, 1955 at 9:37 a.m., David was raised by his mother, Viola, and father, Nunzio on a small family farmstead in Hammonton, NJ. He was the fun-loving, super funny brother to Frank, Edward, and Linda. David graduated Hammonton High School in 1973 and transitioned into college life at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Four years later, he survived Duquesne's vibrant campus life to graduate with a B.A. in History with a minor in Psychology. David, however, wasn't satisfied with a mere college degree so Eddie helped him pack up his red Chevy Monza and they headed west to California! David began law school at the University of La Verne College of Law in Ontario, CA. He utilized the winter break to get hitched - he married Debbie in January of 1978 and the happy couple returned to California to live the beach bum life in a rented pool house - much like all the Beach Boys tunes he loved. However, after that first year, David got accepted to the more prestigious and accredited University of Dayton School of Law. The Monza got packed again and David and his new bride headed back east to Dayton, Oh. Adam came along in November of 1980 and the Juris Doctor followed in 1982.After much debate, David, Debbie, and Adam returned to New Jersey where David passed the bar in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He was hired by Lippmann, Antonelli, Batt, and Dunlap in Vineland, NJ where he honed his "lawyerin' "skills before striking out on his own in 1984. David practiced family law and personal injury while also exemplifying his sense of civic duty defending children's rights as a Guardian ad Litem and defending adult's rights as a Public Defender. Around 1984 David put down roots for his family and opened his own firm in Millville, NJ. He actively practiced until the dawn of the new Millennium. During this time he also found the time to expand the family, adding Diane in '87, Christy in '88, and breaking the mold in '90 with Daniel. David was genuine, generous, loving, kind, goofy, serious, an arts enthusiast, and especially loved his children. He coached small town little league, led the Cub Scouts, took his family on vacations to Disney, California, and Canada, challenged his children's courage at amusement parks, enjoyed concerts, mini-golf, the outdoors, and throwing a good barbecue. "There wasn't a summer or a Sunday without a family meal and post-meal adventure; and mileage to either made no difference to our dad. If there was somewhere to be, something or someone to see, or a shish kabob to construct he was there with us in tow," remembers his daughter Diane. David is survived by his former wife, Deborah; his children: Adam and wife Eva, Diane, Christy and fiancé TJ, and Daniel; his grandchildren: Cristobal, Tye, Kingston, Ronan, Airabella, Serafina, and Valentina; his siblings: Frank, Edward, and Linda; his nieces and nephews: Frank, Jr., Jill, Jennifer, Brian, Kevin, Stephen, and Helena.
