Dorothea L. Cook

Dorothea L. Cook (nee Grays) age 95 of Phila. PA passed away peacefully Saturday September 9, 2023. 

She graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School in 1947. She moved to Phila. PA in 1949, where she attended Bowmont School of Nursing, and later worked as a Cash and Recovery Clerk for the Social Security Administration for over 26 years. Dot was active in the Mt. Airy Hand Praise Ministry Group, volunteered in local food banks and enjoyed making Stain Glass, ceramics and crafting.

She is predeceased by her parents Albert Leon Grays and Saddie Grant Grays, her daughter Adrienne Miles, her brothers Edward and William Grays and sisters Elise Ann Bourgeois and twins Marjorie Grays and Mildred Crowder. Dot will be sadly missed by her grandson Donovan Anthony Miles, Jr. as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday September 16, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, NJ. Services will be held at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Winslow United Methodist Church Cemetery 27 Hall St. Winslow, NJ.
