Elizabeth A. Bowers (nee Salvatore), age 75, passed away on Nov 7, 2011 at AtlantiCare Medical Center Galloway Twp. Born in Hammonton, she was a life long area resident. A 1954 graduate of Hammonton High School, she went on to have a successful career as an Office Professional. Liz, as many family and friends called her, worked at Dave Greenberg & Co. Clothing Factory as an Office Secretary from 1953-1954; George Wood Insurance Agency as a Secretary from 54-55 and Ancora State Hospital in the Clerk's Office-Admin. Bldg. from 1955-1958. She also took a part-time position out of the home as a Fire Rescue Dispatcher for Buena Vista Twp in the early 1970s. Lastly,
working with her husband in their family business Home Systems Company aka HSC Security Systems from 1966 until retiring at age 70 as Comptroller in 2006.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Alfred & Rita Salvatore of Hammonton; grandson Michael J Price of Wilmington, DE. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years Robert Bowers Sr of Elm Towne, cherished children Kenneth (wife Rhonda) of Erial, Leslie Herbert of Vineland, Ruth Mattucci (long time companion Charles Ference) of Wilmington DE, Robert Bowers Jr (wife Lisa) of Las Vegas NV, Linda Gradia (husband Joseph Jr) of Collings Lakes; siblings Rita Cupani (husband Anthony) of Northfield, Al Salvatore (wife Lucille) of Hammonton, Joe Salvatore (wife June) of Clayton, brother-in-law Genaro Critelli Sr of Palm Bay FL; grandchildren Paige Herbert and Lacey Herbert both of Vineland and Marc Bowers of Blackwood; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews, as well as countless good friends old and new.
Elizabeth took great pleasure in anything she was doing; whether it was taking a trip or doing yard work. She loved spending time with her husband, family and friends. She looked forward to her monthly luncheons with The Girls of 54. She enjoyed seeing the family pets as she so lovingly referred to as the Grand Kitts and Grand Pupps. Liz was a warm, kind, caring, giving, loving person who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday 9:00am with services at 10:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N Third St., Hammonton.Burial will be in Egg Harbor City Cemetery.( www.marinellafuneralhome.com)
