Emily Grace FitzPatrick, 27 of Hammonton, NJ, died suddenly Thursday, December 30, 2021 from injuries sustained in a car accident. A lifelong resident of Hammonton, she was born November 3, 1994 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.
Emily was a graduate of Hammonton High School and the University of Rhode Island (URI) where she completed her doctor of pharmacy degree in 2019.
While attending URI, she was an active member of Lambda Kappa Sigma, a sisterhood for women in pharmacy. Over the six years she spent at URI, she lived on and of campus and made many happy memories and lifelong friendships. During summer breaks from URI, she worked at Pastore's farm market in Hammonton.
In 2016, Emily began working for CVS as a pharmacy technician. After graduation, she continued at CVS, first as a pharmacist in the Williamstown, NJ store, then for the CVS store on Chestnut Avenue in Vineland, where she was promoted to pharmacy manager in 2021. Emily loved to dance. She started dancing at the Dance Magic studio in Hammonton at the age of 4, where she studied tap, jazz, and ballet. She also performed in high school plays and continued with dance at URI, where she was in numerous dance company shows on campus. Emily was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and loved everything Disney. She traveled to Disney World a number of times and hoped to travel the world. She was beautiful inside and out, a caring person known for her sweet, outgoing personality and a smile that could light up a room.
She was one of a kind who was coming into her own in the prime of her life. Her family and friends are heartbroken at her sudden passing. Emily is predeceased by her loving grandparents, Robert Salvo (maternal grandfather) and John and Marion FitzPatrick (paternal grandparents) She is survived by her mother and father, James and Karen (née Salvo) FitzPatrick; her sister, Caroline FitzPatrick; her maternal grandmother, Delores Salvo, all from Hammonton; her boyfriend, Dan Deckman of Glassboro, plus many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4 at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St. in Hammonton. Visitors may also call at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church, 226 French St. in Hammonton.
