Emmeline Valadez

Emmeline Layla Valadez, 8, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away on a Wednesday, September 17th after an unspeakable accident, it was a sunny day. She entered this world demanding our attention on December 3, 2005 to John and Angel Valadez and everyone that witnessed her love.
Emmy loved ball pits and swimming and roller-blading and chocolate ice cream. Emmy loved the sun on her face and playing with her big sister. Emmy loved watching reality television with her mom-mom and going on errands with her pop-pop. Emmy loved running into the house, after school yelling, "Emmy-Emmy-Emmy's home!" Emmy loved being tucked in at night to the words, "Tuck, tuck, tuck!" Emmy didn't love it when we lived in Ghana. But Emmy loved waking up before everyone, picking out her next "new" outfit and putting her robe on over it because mom-mom kept the house really, really cold. (She would get upset if anyone woke-up before her.) Emmy loved posing for photos and coming up with silly faces and photo-bombing. Emmy would love telling me that this obituary wasn't right. And I would tell her that this was the hardest thing daddy ever had to write, but she would insist that I was missing this or that. Emmy would love that. Emmy loved her pets: Sally and Selena and Charlie Chunga and Gigi and every animal in the world. Emmy loved her mommy. Emmy loved her mom-mom (Minu Rodio). Emmy loved her pop-pop (Lenny Rodio). Emmy loved her Uncle Ronnie (Ronnie Rodio). Emmy loved her Aunt Missy Bear (Melissa Rodio Deringer) and her Uncle CR (CR Deringer) and her cousin Penelope (Penelope Deringer). Emmy loved her Aunt Monica (Monica Valadez Villegas), even though she loved calling her Monica just to get under her skin, and she loved her Uncle Rigo (Rigoberto Villegas).And Emmy loved her Aunt Raquel, her Uncle Eddie, her cousin's Nicholas and Anthony and Jessica and Erinn and Aleah. Emmy loved her big sister and best friend, Bella. Emmy loved daddy. Please join us in celebration while we raise her sunrise on Monday at an 11:30 am service at Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3Rd St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. Her viewing will be held from 9:30-11:30am.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Everyone can help us lift her up to the sky. She's heavy, because so much love fills her. Even though I'll swaddle her with the mantle that I'll borrow from the shoulders of the world… Emmy will wear the sun.
