They would marry in 1955 and be together for over 62 years, until his passing 10/19/17. Joan was an amazing cook especially Italian. She also made the most delicious cookies at Christmas spending hours chopping pounds of walnuts by hand. Joan was a great dancer and loved to jitterbug. She also loved playing slot machines at various casinos. Joan also enjoyed playing cards and played until just before her passing. After retirement, she began working for Michael at his restaurant “The Eatery” as hostess and she would sit and converse with many patrons.
In addition to Angelo, Joan was also predeceased by her parents Ethel Palmer, Irving Palmer and Chester Spearing. Joan is survived by her children Michael Maccarone (Christine Carvelli), Kathleen Sartorio (Robert), Cynthia Reinhard (Theodore), her half-brothers James Palmer and William Spearing (Sue), Stepsisters Patricia Gillum (Frank) and Wanda McHenry, sisters-in-law Ruth (Maccarone) Connaught, Phyllis (Maccarone) Lisanti (Joseph) and many nieces and nephews.
