Frank Picarella, age 83 was born in Phila. PA on June 7, 1927, died peacefully surrounded by family on October 30, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Ann Jean Picarella ( nee Smith ) , sister Gladys Blum ( Bob ), children, Michael ( Faye ) Picarella, Cookie ( Ken ) Stepanuk, Kim ( Ed ) Hagaman, Anthony Ross, Diana ( Chris ) Eskridge, and Kelly ( Mark ) Turner. He loved, adored, and enjoyed spending time with many grandchildren including, Brian & Chris Picarella, Jonathan Stepanuk, Amanda, Ryan, Carmen, Justin, Vincent and great grandson Justin Picarella, nephews Chris and Bobby Blum as well as many friends. Frank is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Kathryn Picarella and son Frankie. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged as a Seaman 1st Class, awarded with the Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and American Theater Ribbon. Jokingly known to his friends and family as the self-proclaimed " Tiger of the Pacific ". Frank was a supervisor and retired from Honeywell after 35 years where he earned the respect of many. Upon retiring, you could always find Frank either on the golf course, in the library reading up to 3 novels a week, or spending time with his grandchildren. Because of his passion for the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers, "Pic's Sports Bar" was born, where family gathered on Sundays. At the request of Frank, services and internment will be private.
