George D. McCaughey Jr. age 81, of Hammonton, passed away August 25, 2009 at Heritage Assisted Living in Hammonton. Born in Phila, he was a graduate of Hammonton High School. George served in the US Navy during WWII. , he was employed by Whitehall Labs and RCA where he worked on the Apollo Mission. He and his father owned and operated a Hosiery Mill in Hammonton. George served as a greeter for St. Martin de Porres Church. He is predeceased by his wife Ernestine. Surviving are his children George III and his wife Karen of Voorhees, Gary and his wife Gloria of Lexington, SC, Glenn and his wife Lucille of Sarasota, Fl., Gail and her husband Sam Mody of Hammonton and Ginny and her husband Mark Loomis of Hammonton. Loving grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of one. Also one sister Amy Marchese of Folsom. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sat. 9:00-11:00am with services at 11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton.
