Gerard "Jerry" Melora

December 18, 1955 — September 25, 2024

Gerard "Jerry" Melora, age 68, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, after a long battle with IBM. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Hammonton and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1973. He continued his education at Stockton College, graduating in 1977. For many years, Jerry served as the count room supervisor at Showboat Hotel and Casino and Resorts, before joining the NJ Department of Agriculture as an inspector in 2006 until his retirement.

Jerry's greatest pride and joy came from his family, especially his five grandsons-Angelo, Benjamin, Gino, Henry, and Johnny-who adored him immensely. He cherished every moment spent with them, sharing his passions for baseball, fishing, and hunting. Together, they formed a close-knit group that affectionately called themselves the "Wolfpack." For them, Jerry was not just a grandfather; he was the best "Pop Pop" anyone could ever ask for, and his love for them was his most significant accomplishment.

In addition to his family, Jerry found joy in gardening, the great outdoors and was a huge Phillies fan. He also shared a special bond with his cherished cousins and friends, whose love and support enriched his life. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Evelyn (nee Fanelli) Melora, and his brother, Joseph A. Melora. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carmella (nee DeLuca), two daughters, Jennifer Guli (Jeff) and Nicole Bosco (Brian), his son Jerry (fiancée Katelyn Madjeski), sister Charlotte Passarella (Michael), and brother Anthony Melora (Patty).
