Harriet J. Frederico

d. July 6, 2020

Harriet Joyce Frederico (nee Flinn), 90, of Blue Anchor, NJ embraced her journey home to our Lord on July 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Harriet was born into a large, loving, Irish-Catholic family in Gloucester City, NJ. Harriet built her legacy beside her beloved husband and five daughters on the family farm in Blue Anchor. She is predeceased by her loving husband, George J. Frederico and her parents, Joseph and Irene Flinn.
Harriet was blessed with five daughters: Debbie Cacciabaudo (Sal); Pat Frederico-Linnell (Rick); Gail Mehlinger Loeber (Jack); Lori Italiano; Tracey Bober (Ed).
She was "Mom-Mom" to: Kristoffer Cacciabaudo(Jenn), Nicole Slobe (Steve), Sean Cacciabaudo (Marelle), Daniel Mehlinger, Alyssa Italiano-Doerr (John), Dominique Bober, Eddie George Bober, Samantha Loeber (Jeffrey), Amanda Loeber, and Jack Loeber, III.
She was "GG-Mom" to: Evan, Sabrina, Andrew, Dylan, Mattea, & Flynn.
She was "Aunt Har" to many nieces and nephews.
Harriet loved living on the farm raising her five daughters with her husband George. She was well known for her Bourbon Slush, fruit preserves, delicious coconut and peanut butter eggs, Irish Potatoes and her famous rice pudding! As much as Harriet enjoyed baking, she never refused a "sliver" of anything sweet. She perfected her meatballs, and a homemade pot of gravy was savored at every Sunday dinner.
Summers at the Frederico Farm were spent enjoying the fruits of their labor with family and friends. Harriet loved entertaining and hosting annual 4th of July picnics and holiday gatherings.
In addition to raising her family, Harriet was always a hard worker who was not afraid to try something new. Harriet held a few occupations throughout the years. She was known as the "Avon lady", a clerk at the Blue Anchor General store, and "Miss Harriet" the school bus driver for over 20 years! Until the day Kessler Memorial Hospital closed its doors, Harriet was fondly remembered as "Harriet the Operator", who memorized doctors' numbers and directed calls at lightning speed. Her voice echoed the halls as she so eloquently announced visiting hours throughout the PA system. She built lifelong friendships where she shared special bonds and created lasting memories.
Harriet was a parishoner of St. Lucy's Roman Catholic Church in Blue Anchor, and a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. After it's closing, she then attended St. Mary of Mt. Carmel in Hammonton. She was also a member of the Atco Seniors Club. Her favorite pastime was being a Golden Girl in her "girls club" of 60+ years of treasured friendships. The Golden Girls went from trading recipes and hosting dinner parties in their homes, to bus trips and weekend getaways. They even took a trip abroad to Ireland where Harriet courageously climbed many steps to reach and kiss the "Blarney Stone." Harriet had an infectious smile, sparkling blue eyes, and a contagious laugh. She was passionate about helping others and those less fortunate. She always reminded her family to "Be kind to everyone, as you never know what they may be going through!" Her legacy of kindness to others will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and in the bagpipes of "Oh Danny Boy", the song that carried her home. Anyone fortunate enough to have been touched by Harriet were abundantly blessed. She believed in living the words of her patron Saint, Padre Pio, "Pray, Hope and Don't Worry". When remembering Harriet, all are reminded of her unconditional love and acceptance.
Due to current public health concerns, services will be private. A memorial mass and celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Please refer to www.marinellafuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, Harriet requested donations be made to the Saint Padre Pio Shrine c/o Newfield National Bank Attn: Kathy Valla, VP PO Box #394 18 West Blvd. Newfield, NJ 08344.
