James "Jimmy" V. Romeo, 43, Mullica Township, died unexpectedly at 11:53 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident on Weymouth Road. James was born Aug. 1, 1969, in Hammonton, NJ and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1987 graduate of Oakcrest High School, the former owner of Black Diamond Paving and Excavating, and a foreman for over 12 years at Asphalt Paving Systems in Hammonton. He is survived by his mother Joan (Potter); his fiancé & soul mate, Stephanie Cerulli; his two children, James (5 y.o.) and Jaedyn (1 y.o.). Also by his four sisters Karen Nelson & husband Gary; Lisa Romeo; Cathy Bassaner & husband Ray; and Amy Romeo-Shaw. Four nieces, Dawn Nutting (Romeo); April Nelson; Veronica Bassaner; and Haley Shaw. Three nephews Donald Talton & wife Sarah; Gary Nelson Jr.; Brandon Shaw; and godson Nicholas Pettinelli. He is preceded in death by his father Vernon "Pielo" Romeo and brother Vincent.
His memory will also live on through numerous family, aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews, friends and co-workers. Jimmy was most remembered by his contagious smile that lit up the world and will be in everyone's hearts forever. He had a huge heart and touched everyone's lives that he knew.
All relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Weds. 9:30am - 11:30am at the Marinella Funeral Home: 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Services will be held at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery: 500 N. White Horse Pike Hammonton, NJ.
