James W. Garrison, age 84 of Hammonton, passed away Friday April 27, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeton, NJ, Jim moved to Hammonton in 1949 where he met and married the love of his life Adeline Tomasello. After high school he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
"Bones" retired from Atlantic City Electric Company after 33 years of service as a lineman and systems inspector. During that time he served as Shop Steward for IBEW Local 210. He served on the Hammonton Town Council for over 10 years, was a Trustee for over 20 years at St. Anthony of Padua Church, a Hammonton Fire Co. #2 honorary fireman, a member of the Sons of Italy Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge # 1658 where he served as an officer and as Sergeant at Arms at numerous State Conventions, member of the Knights of Columbus and a coach for the Hammonton Little League. Predeceased by his parents Joel and Alice (nee Simpkins), brothers Kennedy, Robert, Gene, Charles and sister Frances Probasco. Surviving are his wife Adeline (nee Tomasello) four sons James L (Melinda), John C. (Cyndy), William B. (Carla) and Michael A. (Donna), loving grandfather of James, Jason, Lynne Comunale (Rob), Liesse, Nicole, Sean Macri (Donna), Jennifer Enders (Ace), Ashley Rock and 6 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00pm at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish St. Anthony of Padua Church, Rt. 206, Hammonton, NJ and Tuesday at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
