Jean R. Liberto (nee Bertino) 76 of Hammonton, passed Tuesday March 12, 2013 at her home, with her loving family. Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. Jean was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She received her BA in Education from Immaculata College in 1958 and her MA in Education from Rowan University in 1990. Jean was a teacher for the Folsom School District for 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish- St. Martin de Porres Church, president of the Altar Rosary and a member of the Church merger CORE team. In 2000, she received the Teacher of the Year Award from Governor's Teacher Recognition Program. In 2013 Jean was inducted into the St. Joseph High School Athletic Hall of Fame. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Anna Bertino. Jean is survived by her husband of 52 years David S., her children Anne Liberto-Black and her husband Jack, Bebe Liberto and David J. and his fiancée Stephanie Baugh and her son Matthew. Loving grandmother of Harry and Samantha Prokosa and John David Black. Sister to MaryAnn Pinto and sister in law to Jean Liberto, Josephine Liberta, Jean and Edward Liberto and Rudy and Delores Liberto.
Family and friends are invited to her visitation Sunday 6-8pm and Monday 9-11am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish- St. Martin de Porres Church Park Ave. and Egg Harbor Rd. Hammonton. Mass will be Monday 11am at the Church. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery Hammonton. Donations may be made in Jean's memory to St. Joseph High School 328 Vine St. Hammonton, NJ 08037.
