It is with deepest regrets that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, John J. Grasso, Sr., age 74, on January 23, 2021 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees. Born at West Jersey Hospital, John was a lifelong resident of Elm, NJ.
John was a self-employed truck driver, and his Orange Mack was well known far and wide. He was also a charter member of the Elm Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Fireman of the Year 1970. John was predeceased by his parents, John and Minnie Grasso (nee Delareto) and his sister Mary Richards. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth C. (nee Faralli), daughters Betty Beebe (Brian) of Elm, and Sharon Figueroa (Scott) of Hammonton, son John J. Grasso, Jr. (Janice) of Hammonton, sister Anna Condo (Louis) of Elm, brother Carmen of Elm, and sister Rosalie Watson of Hammonton. John was the loving grandfather of 13 grandchildren: Brian, Brandon (McKenzie), Brooke, Brett, and Brock Beebe; Scott, Austin, Daniel, and Ryan Figueroa; and Johnny, Matt, Alex, and Logan Grasso. His proud grandchildren are utterly devastated by the loss of such a huge influence in their lives. John enjoyed his daily morning coffee rides with his close friend, Carmen Bartolone Jr. He will also be missed by an enormous group of friends, many of whom he met at the casinos playing cards.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his outdoor/drive-by visitation at his home, 802 Wiltseys Mill Rd. Elm, NJ from 9:00 - 10:30am on Friday, January 29. Immediately following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Joseph Church, 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery 500 N. White Horse Pike Hammonton, NJ. Donations in John's memory can be made to the Elm Fire Company: 569 White Horse Pike, Elm, NJ 08037.
