John R. Santilli

John Santilli Sr. age 87 of Hammonton, passed away December 31, 2011 at his residence. John retired from the State of New Jersey as an electrical engineer at Leesburg State Prison. He was a private in the US Army during WWII. He was a former Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus both Pallotti Assembly and Council #3471. He was a Republican councilman for Atlantic County for 13 years. John was a member of the American Legion F.A. Funston Post #186, The Artisians, Hammonton Lions Club, St. Joseph Wildcatters and Hammonton Senior Citizens. John was a percussionist in numerous bands. He was an avid golfer. John is predeceased by his wife Mary C. Santilli (nee Merlino), parents Ralph and Francis Santilli (nee Capelli), brother Michael Santilli and sister Millie Milioti. Surviving are his children John R. Santilli Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Folsom, Gloria Gugliotta of Hammonton, and his sister Josephine Domenico of Hammonton.
Loving grandfather of Robbrina Tapp Archer (Rick), Robert E. Tapp, Jr., Alyssa R. Santilli and John R. Santilli III, great-grandfather of Crystal Berggren, Trinity Diaz, Brooklynn Archer and Atticus Zane-John Archer. His close and dear friend Harriet Frederico and also many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Weds. Jan. 4, 2012 from 7-9pm and Thurs from 9:30-10:45am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial Thurs. 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish. St. Joseph Church Third & French Sts. Hammonton. Burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton.
