J. Richard Fields 65, of Hammonton passed away Thursday August 20, 2009 at Virtua Hospital in Marlton. Born in Allentown , NJ he was an Hammonton resident for many years. Rich worked as a manager for Herr Foods Inc. in Egg Harbor and also served in the US Coast Guard. He was an avid hunter and took great pride in his yard. His greatest joy was his family. He loved golfing, playing horseshoes and going in the woods with his sons. He loved playing with his grandchildren and was happiest when he was spending time doing anything with his partner, his wife. Rich was recently selected for induction into the Sports Hall of Fame of his high school alma mater in Allentown, NJ. Rich will be remembered as loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife Judy (nee Di Joseph) of Hammonton, his sons Brian and his wife Dominique, Mark and his wife Tanya, Scott and his wife Denise all of Hammonton. Rich is survived by his mother Anne Fields. Loving brother of Tom Fields and his wife Joyce of Whiting and Betty Hyatt and her husband George of Williamstown. John was the proud grandfather of Andrew, Christopher, Caitlyn and Maureen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 8:30 am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10:00am at St. Joseph Church Third & French Sts. Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton.
