Joseph A. "Jiz" Sarao age 72, of Hammonton, passed away October 25, 2009 at Virtua Hospital in Berlin, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hammonton, he was a resident all his life. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Class of 1955. Joe retired from Whitehall Building Service Dept. He served in the US Navy from 1955-1957. He is predeceased by his parents Guy and Anna Sarao and his brother Roger Sarao. Surviving is his wife Lorraine (Foster), his children Joseph Jr. and companion Bridget of Hammonton, Lisa Varesio and her husband Albert of Mullica Twp. and Jo-Ann DeClement and her husband William of Egg Harbor Twp. His sister JoAnn "Dolly" Wolf and sister in law Carol Sarao. Joe's grandchildren Renee and Anthony J. Sarao, Joshua, Gianna and Nicolas DeClement and Cheyenne DelGuercio were the love of his life. He especially enjoyed playing ball with Anthony. Joe is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thurs. 10:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial Thurs. 12:00pm at St. Joseph Church N. Third St. Hammonton. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.The family requests donations to American Cancer Society 626 N. Shore Rd.
