Louis, 93, lifetime resident of Waterford Township, NJ, almost reached his goal of living 100 years. He passed on July 23rd in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his loving family and friends. Louis retired at 53 years young from a long career at The Budd Company in Philadelphia. Over the last 40 years he dedicated much of his time and service to the Waterford Township Board of Education and as a 4th degree Knight of Columbus at Shane Castle, as well as enjoying his grandchildren and frequent travels to San Antonio, Florida. He was an avid bowler, farmer and all-around green thumb, a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, and he never met a root beer he didn't like. Louis is survived by his loving companion Helen Brewer (nee Groff), daughter Julia Duffy (Alan), and sons Joseph (Denise) and Louis II (Dawn), grandchildren Joseph DePalma Jr (Rachel), Nora Hartley (Jack), Jesse DePalma (Rebecca), Louis DePalma III (Nina), Ryan Duffy, and Denice DePalma (NelliAnn), and great-grandchildren Gavin DePalma, Autumn DePalma, James Hartley, Nicola Hartley, and Olivia DePalma, in addition to many other close friends and family associations. He is predeceased by two wives, Rosella (nee Midili) and Dorothy (nee Angelini), and daughter Angela, grandson Gavin Duffy, and all six of his brothers and sisters, Julie, Mary, Mike, Tommy, Pat, and Jimmy. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday July 27th from 8:30-10:30am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am at Christ the Redeemer Parish - St. Anthony Church 436 Pennington Ave. Waterford, NJ. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery 300 W. White Horse Pike Berlin, NJ.
