Louise Scola

d. December 20, 2010

Louise Scola (nee. Cuomo) - 80, of Margate , formerly of South Philadelphia, PA, passed away Monday December 20, 2010 after a lengthy illness.
Predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Jules Cuomo, and her loving husband of 55 years, James Scola in 2007.
She is survived by her brother Jules (Barbara) Cuomo of Trenton, brother-in-law Frank (Rita) Marino of Phila, PA, sister-in-law Helen Scola, of Phila, PA, her daughter Antoinette (Nick) Pirolli of Hammonton, her son John (Joann) Cuomo of Ocean City, MD , her grandchildren: Maria Mariano of Pine Hill , John Cuomo, Jr of Sinking Springs, PA, Michelle Cuomo-Powers of Ocean City, MD, Gina (James) Proctor Jr of Marlton, and Joseph (Lisa) Cuomo of Ocean City, MD. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends of the Margate Terrace.
Louise was born in Trenton, NJ, and moved to Philadelphia as a young girl where she met and married James. South Philadelphia was their home for over 60 years. She and her husband ran a luncheonette "Louise's Luncheonette" on Water & Tasker Sts. In South Philly. After closing the luncheonette, Louise went on to work at "George's Resturant" on Broad & Snyder Ave in South Philly for a 23 year career. Her grandchildren enjoyed going to see her working at George's and have lunch with her. Louise & Jim had a driving camper and enjoyed many summers with their son, and daughter traveling. The coast of Maine, Orchard Bay, was one of her favorite trips. They also enjoyed Florida, and spending summertime down the shore with their children, and grandchildren. Her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her much laughter and happiness.
Louise was a wonderful person who loved to be around her family and friends. Her laugh was infectious; you couldn't help but get hysterical when she laughed. She was an avid book reader. Give her a book, a chair, and a bowl of cherries, and that was all she needed. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, and forever remembered in our hearts.
