CURCIO,
Lucy (nee Ezzi ) age 92 of Hammonton, NJ passed away February 9, 2017. Born in West Virginia, Lucy was an area resident nearly all her life. She attended Hammonton High School, where she graduated in 1942 and served in the National Honor Society. She worked as a bookkeeper for Press Furniture Store in Hammonton and for John Machise's Newell Clothing Factory in Vineland, during World War II. In 1948, she married Samuel A. Curcio who became a prominent local attorney, judge and public servant. Sam and Lucy together developed the Curcio Law Firm of Hammonton where Lucy provided administrative and bookkeeping support into the 21st. century. Dating back to the 1950s Lucy served in many local organizations including the Jay-Cee ettes, the Hammonton Regular Republican Club, the St. Joseph School PTA and the Altar Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed cooking (especially Italian cookies), attending political functions and supporting her children's athletic and performing arts functions. She loved to spend time with her children preparing holiday dinners and decorating. Lucy was predeceased by her husband Samuel A. Curcio, Sr., her beloved partner in life for 67 years. She was also predeceased by parents Angelina and Rocco Ezzi and step father Anthony Ippolitto, Brothers and sister Dominic Ezzi, Joseph Ezzi,Sr., and Antoniette Pistone and by her granddaughter Elena Parker. Lucy is survived by her sons, Samuel and his wife Donna, James and his wife Jessica and Richard and his wife Jean all of Hammonton, NJ. and by her daughter Susan and husband Donald J. Parker of Sweetwater, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica Parker Martin (Bob), Matthew Parker, Samuel W. Curcio (Michelle), Gregory Parker ( Mary), Charles, John, Timothy, Daniel, Neil and Luke Curcio, and 8 Great Grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday from 7:00pm - 9:00pm and Thursday morning from 9:00am - 1030am all at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00am St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ. Donations may be made to the Curcio Memorial Scholarship Fund 325 Bellevue Ave. Hammonton, NJ 08037.
