Marie R. Kern

Marie R. Kern (nee Ranere) 98 of Hammonton, passed April 7, 2013 at Virtua Hospital in Berlin. Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. Marie was a graduate of Hammonton High School. She graduated as a bacteriologist and also as a pharmacist from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1960. Marie was the director of pharmacy at WB Kessler Memorial Hospital and also a pharmacist at Whitehall Lab.
Marie is predeceased by her husband Donald H. Kern, her son Donald R. and his wife Charlene. Surviving is her son Peter H. and his wife Rosemarie of Hammonton, her daughter Mary Xenelis and her husband Theodore of Portland, CT. Dear sister of Peter T. Ranere and Louise Phillis of Hammonton. Loving grandmother of Dominique Fields, Carrie Kern, Meredith Berenato, Donald F. Kern, Melanie Xenelis-Bevens, Kristen Lawler and Nancy Lefler. Great-grandmother of 9.
Family and friends are invited to her visitation Monday April 15th 10:00-11:00am with Memorial Mass at 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish- St. Martin de Porres Church Park Ave. and Egg Harbor Rd. Hammonton.. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery Hammonton. Donations may be made in Marie's memory to Virtua Hospital 100 Townsend Ave. Berlin, NJ 08009. Arrangements entrusted to Marinella Funeral Home 102 N.
