Mary Mazzella

Mary Mazzella (nee Calicchio) age 100 of Smithville, NJ passed away peacefully Sunday July 10, 2022.  

Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided in South River, NJ for many years. While living in South River, Mary was very active in Corpus Christi Church as a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She retired in 1987 after 21 years as a cafeteria cook for the school district of South River. Mary was also a Auxiliary member of the South River VFW Post 1451.

She is predeceased by her parents John and Caroline (nee Avisata) Calicchio, her husband Frank S. Mazzella, and her 10 siblings

Mary is survived by her children Antoinette (Bruno) Mecchi, Frances (Bob) Gargone, and Geraldine (William) Hogan. She is the loving grandmother of Anatol Kous, Daniel Kous, Gina Gargone, Kevin Hogan, and Jonathan Hogan and great grandmother of Brandon Kous, Alex Kous, Christopher Kous, Claire Hogan and Charlotte Hogan.

Family and Friends are invited to attend her closed casket visitation Thursday July 14, 2022 from 9:30-10:00am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00am at Corpus Christi Church 100 James St, South River, NJ 08882. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park 840 Cranbury South River Rd, Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
