Michael James Straus

Michael James Straus, age 59 of Vineland, NJ and formerly of Hammonton, NJ passed away Thursday February 20, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. Michael was born in Phila, PA and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1979. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1979 - 1986. He went into his family business Mary's Market in Elwood with his parents Harry and Mary Straus and later created the Flower Shoppe at Mary's which he ran for over 25 years. A love for children Michael became a Special Education Aide at Pinelands Learning Center in Vineland. He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary (Hannan) Straus, brothers Harry J. Straus, brother in law Howard F. Macri, and niece Bethany Macri.
Michael is survived by his loving partner of over 25 years Jeffrey Panco, his brother John Straus (Melody), sisters Mary Anne DeStefano (Charlie), Teri Macri, Trudy Straus (Doug), Susan Petrucelli (Jim), Judy Friedley (David), his brother in law John Panco and many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of Michael's life will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made in Michael's memory to South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter 1244 N. Delsea Dr. Vineland, NJ 08360. Arrangements entrusted to the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, NJ.
