He was serving as Chairman of the Camden County Agricultural Development Board at the time of his death. He also served as a member and chairman of the Camden County Mosquito Control Commission for many years, president of the Camden County Board of Agriculture for ten years and chairman of the Camden/Gloucester County Farmers Home Administration. He was a member and past director of the NJ Farm Bureau. Norman was a founding member of the Elm Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and a life member of the Winslow Township Fire Department. Norman recently retired from the NJ Pinelands Commission after serving fourteen years as the Camden County representative. He served as both vice-chairman and acting chairman during his tenure.
