Philip R. Codone

Philip R. Codone , age 75, of Hammonton, passed away at his home on August 8, 2010. Born in Vineland, Phil was a Hammonton resident most of his life. Phil attended Sacred Heart Elementary School in Vineland.He was a member of Mt. Carmel Society, Knights of Columbus 3rd degree Palloti Council and 4th degree Palloti Assembly #3471, Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church, Winslow Fire Co., Winslow Twp. Fire/Police, Ancora Vol. Fire/Police Dept. and Vineland Fire Dept. Phil was a life member of Deborah Hospital-Hammonton Chapter and a former member of Inskip Gun Club. He was a member of Hammonton and Winslow Twp. Lions Club. He was an usher at St. Joseph Church and also a member of the Choir. He served in the Army National Guard. Phil received the fan appreciation in 2000 from St. Augustine Prep in Richland and was a member of St. Joseph Booster Club and Wildcatters. Phil worked in his family's grocery store Codone's Grocery 4th and Peach Sts. Vineland. He worked at Ancora Hospital for 25 years. For nearly 50 years Phil has been a proud icon of the Marinella Funeral Home Phil could always be found at any local sporting event supporting the athletes. Phil loved to play the drums and dance. Surviving are his wife Madalene (nee Pantalone) of Hammonton, one brother Louis Codone of St. Cloud Fl. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Weds eve 6:00pm at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. A visitation will be held Thurs. 10:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel- St. Joseph Church N. Third St. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am at the church. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton.. Donations may be made to Hammonton Rescue Squad 300 S.
