Reverend Walter G. Arkell

Reverend Walter G. Arkell Emeritus of Hammonton, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 19, 2017. Reverend Walter Arkell was born on April 10, 1929 in Toronto, Canada. After high school, he was employed by the Toronto Daily Star. Soon after he was accepted to Bob Jones University and then attended Westminster Theological Seminary. Reverend Arkell was a Presbyterian minister for over 50 years. Walter is predeceased by his father Charlie, mother Annie (nee Tennyson) and his brother Norman. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Barbara Arkell (nee Lamey). He is also survived by his devoted children Heather Del Bagno and husband Anthony, Ann Calandriello (husband Robert deceased), Jennifer Arkell and husband Robert, and Jonathan Arkell and wife Luz. Gepa will be missed by his adoring grandchildren Jacqueline, Lauren, Courtney, Jessica, Robert Jr., Katherine, Alexandra, Jennifer, Andrew and Matthew. The family will be receiving visitors at First Presbyterian Church of Hammonton 326 Bellevue Ave. Hammonton, New Jersey at 11 AM Saturday, September 9, 2017. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for a donation to a charity of your choice.
