Richard B. Johnson

Richard B. Johnson age 79 of Hammonton, NJ passed away Wednesday October 9, 2019 at AtlantiCare Medical Center in Galloway Twp. NJ. Rich was born and raised in Hammonton and graduated from Hammonton High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic during Vietnam.
Growing up in the family business, Rich took over Chester's Hardware Store after the death of his father and continued to work at the store after retiring.
He is predeceased by his parents Edmond Chester and Jennie Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret ( nee Johns) and his three sons, Jefery of Hammonton, Richard of Mays Landing and Robert and his wife Elizabeth of Hammonton, his sister Rebecca Christen and her husband Peter, and two brothers Edmond and his wife Diane and the Honorable Nelson C. Jonson and his wife Johanna all of Hammonton, NJ. He is the loving grandfather of Jefery, Justin, Matthew, Ryan and Sean Johnson and Great Grandfather of Amelia, Eva and Hudson Johnson.
Family and friends are invited to attend his church viewing Tuesday from10:00am - 12:00pm with Services at 12:00pm all at the First United Methodist Church 398 Bellevue Ave. Hammonton, NJ. Burial will following at Egg Harbor City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church.
