Robert A. Raffa

~~ROBERT A. RAFFA "BOB" - age 65 of Winterville, NC passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan, GA. Bob was raised in Hammonton, NJ and graduated from St. Augustine Preparatory School in 1970 and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences in 1975. He owned and operated The Family Pharmacies in Mays Landing, NJ and Hammonton, NJ as well as Atlantic Drug in Egg Harbor City, NJ. He later worked for CVS Corporation as a pharmacist, PIC, and district manager in southern NJ where he received many accolades. Bob relocated to Winterville, NC and continued to work for the CVS Corporation as a pharmacy manager and pharmacist. He served as President of the NJ Pharmaceutical Association, President of the Rotary Club of Mays Landing, Commander of the Sons of American Legion Post 186, and dedicated officer for the Hammonton Hawks and Hammonton Little League. Bob was also a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Predeceased by his parents, Placido "Bob" and Kathryn Raffa and his brother John M. Raffa. Surviving are his wife Freda (Prestopino) of Winterville, NC, son Robert A. Jr. (Jennifer Niceta) of Hammonton, NJ and daughter Lisa (Paul Ellis) of Winterville, NC. Sister Kathryn Velardi and her husband Salvatore of Hammonton, NJ, Godmother Geneva Ruberton of Hammonton, NJ, and loving brother and sister in laws (Dorothea Raffa, Adrian & Kathleen Cook, Eva Prestopino and Joe & Rita Darby). Bob was a loving Pop Pop and grandpop to Caden, Jake, Levi, Analiese (Ellis) and Landon (Raffa). He will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Joseph Church 3rd & French St Hammonton, NJ on Saturday, September 16 from 9am - 10:30am. Entombment will be private.
