Robert Duane Roush, of Sun City, SC, formerly of Folsom, NJ, and husband of Margaret Eckhardt Roush, died on Wednesday August 15, at home, of pancreatic cancer. He was born in Benton Harbor Michigan on August 6, 1931 to Harry and Louise Gross Roush. The third of four boys, he is survived by his oldest brother, Wally (wife Jackie) of Fall Brook, California. His brothers Richard and Norman predeceased him. Also surviving are his wife, Margaret, his son Robert (wife Kathy) of Fairfield, CT, daughter Katherine of home, grandchildren Christina, Daniel, Timothy and many nieces and nephews. Bob grew up in Three Rivers, Michigan and graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1949, having played on the football, basketball and golf teams. Bob was in the Michigan National Guard for 3 years and the US Navy for 4 years. He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration in 1959. That is where he and Margaret met and married, in 1957. Bob was employed with American Airlines from 1959 - 1962. Then in 1962 he joined IBM, where he became a Senior Programmer and traveled all over the world, in his work. He lived, most of that time, in White Plains, NY enjoining in his spare time golf and sailing on Long Island Sound. He retired from IBM in 1987 and moved to NJ. In 1988 he and Margaret moved to Hilton Head, SC. Having played many sports, he focused on golf and was employed by the Sea Pines Company as a starter and ranger. In a few years he joined the Sea Pines Country Club where he enjoyed the competition of tournaments. In 1994 they moved to Essex, CT and in 2001 moved to Bradenton, FL. In 2005, he moved back to the Lowcountry and Sun City, SC. Here he enjoyed golfing, making and sailing Radio Controlled Sailboats and making music. He played his ukulele with the Strummers and sometimes the piano, when they would entertain at the nursing homes. There will be a private graveside service at the convenience of the family.
