Salvatore F. " Bill " Amedio, age 86 of Hammonton, passed away Wednesday Dec. 16, 2009 at his residence. Born in Hammonton, he was a resident his entire life. Bill served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Society and Hammonton V.F.W # 1026 and American Legion Post 186. Bill worked for Hammonton Board of Education in maintenance, retiring in 1993. He also worked for National Garment in Hammonton.
Bill is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Phyllis Amedio, his wife Rita (nee DeMarco), sisters Mary Mancuso and Catherine Dixon, brothers Nunzio, Joseph and Frank Amedio. Surviving is his daughter Deborah Gelles and her husband Bart , dear brother of Tony and Henry (Pat) Amedio of Hammonton. Brother in law of John (Anna) DeMarco, Anthony (Mary) Demarco, George Dixon, Gladys Tomasella, Stella Daniello and Rose (Anthony) Merlino all of Hammonton. Loving Grandfather of Dane Gelles.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Mon. Dec. 21, 2009 9:00am - 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church 285 Rt. 206 Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am at the church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Hammonton. Arrangements entrusted to the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton. Donations may be sent to Lighthouse Hospice, Inc. 1040 N.
