Sarah "Sally" Malenky

Sarah R [Firestone] Malenky, born July 16, 1935, passed away on July 5, 2023, at an assisted living home in Millville, NJ.

Sally was the beloved daughter of Army Col. James J. and Georgia Firestone of Kittanning, PA, and widow of Ronald J. Malenky. She resided in Bellevue and Avalon, PA, until moving to NJ in 2021.

Sally was the mother of Kathleen [Kathy] Malenky [George] Bent, Jeffrey, Paul [Janet], Mark [John Marino], and Gregory [Amy] Malenky. Her grandchildren are AJ, Briley, Cameron and Justin Malenky; George, Molly, John and Sarah Bent; Amber Bedolla, Tiffany Rector, and Traci Ferguson. She was also blessed with seven great grandchildren.

Sally had too many friends to name individually, including many who provided companionship and support in her later years. One, however, who is especially dear is Terry Benson, daughter of Sally’s long-time best friend Shirley Benson, to whom the family is eternally grateful. Appreciation is also extended to the caring and professional staff at Maurice House in Millville, NJ.

She was employed by Arnheim & Neely Real Estate in Pittsburgh for many years. Among the many organizations she served as a volunteer were The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, the Heinz Volunteers of Pittsburgh, and the Brother’s Brother Foundation. Sally was a member of Assumption Church in Bellevue, and a talented singer in its choir.
