Theresa Galletta

Theresa Galletta (nee Mortillite) age 91 of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Sunday December 8, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Hammonton, NJ where she lived all her life and also in Vero Beach, Florida, where she, her husband and family enjoyed 20+ years during the winter months. 

She is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Carmella (Noto) Mortillite, and the love of her life, her beloved husband Ernest F. Galletta, who adored and cherished her for 38 years. She is also predeceased by her sister Josephine and three brothers, Frank, Sam, and Dominic.

Surviving are her children Carmella Galletta, Paul Galletta and his wife Toni Anne, and Gary Galletta. Loving grandmother of April, Shawna, LaSchelle, Alyssa, Dante and Paul and great grandmother of Tyler, Justin, Lilly, Willow and Avelina.

Theresa's whole life revolved around her family and she was happiest when she was with them. She is known for her legendary Sunday dinners, feeding and spending time with the ones she loved. She loved her church, her one true love, Ernie, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and her care-giver Tasha. (She would gladly dance and sing and laugh with them whenever the occasion arose.) She was always dedicated to providing a loving home for her family and friends to gather, and took great care keeping her WHITE homes immaculate and comfortable inside and out, either by raking bags and bags of leaves, or with a spoonful of meatballs telling everyone to EAT-EAT-EAT.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday December 13, 2024 from 9:30am - 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish St. Joseph Church 3rd and French St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ. Following the burial services, we then invite you to Theresa's home at 988 S. 2nd Rd. in Hammonton for an Italian style luncheon/dinner anytime after 2:00pm to continue to visit with the family.
