Thomas M. Ober

Thomas M Ober (aka Brother Benedict Mary, O.S.B.) Entered into God’s Kingdom on September 9,2023. He was born November 11,1959 in Buffalo NY and raised in Voorhees NJ. Thomas was 63 years old.

Thomas was a graduate of Eastern High School Class of 1977. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years.

Brother Benedict found his calling and joined Mount Michael Monastery in Nebraska and devoted much of his life to God and helping others. Brother Benedict worked in the Development Office for 11 years. He loved serving the community and building lifelong relationships. Brother Benedict retired 3 years ago and moved back home to be closer to family due to health.

He is predeceased by his parents Aloysius and Annette Ober and his Uncle John Ober.

He is survived by his sister Lisa Giorno and her husband Joseph of Hammonton, NJ, Aunt Geraldine Miller, niece Victoria Petrongolo and her husband John, Jr. as well as great nephews John Petrongolo, III and Theodore Petrongolo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday September 18, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Anthony Church 285 Rt 206 Hammonton, NJ 08037. Interment will be in Mt. Michael Benedictine Abbey.
